Cyclocross New England Championships 2013

My favorite moment is when racers jump back onto the seat, it reminds me of biking like a child
A masters racer fell on this section and the bike was pinned on top of her, blood in her mouth. She looked tough, so I paused for a moment before asking if she wanted help getting the bike off her and pulled her and the bike up before she sprinted away. I hope I’m tough like that in 25 years.
There weren’t many spectators this very cold weekend so I was happy to find this family.
I tried some off camera strobe for lighting up racers’ faces.
Junior’s racing was actually my favorite to watch. The kids look so much like adults in their full kits and big bikes.
The wind was gusting up to 40 MPH so the course tape was breaking and catching on bikes. One way to keep it out of your spokes is to just grab it with your teeth:
Evan Huff racing his way to victory in the elite race.
