My essay to the NSF writers and artist grant will start off by listing the variety of Google searches about Antarctica that will lead to my blog and how I will be able to help NSF publicity if they send me and how I would not only produce amazing pictures, but would do so visibly and noticeably(I’d tell them a lot of people read my blog…). I think it would be interesting if they did choose a younger person for the award, especially someone who doesn’t want to focus on photographing penguins (I hope they don’t get the idea that I don’t love penguins, because I do, I would write books about penguins when I was a kid. Ask my brother Alex about it some time.). So “Vote Ian” for recipient of an NSF grant to spend a few months photographing in Antarctica next year. Sweet thanks; it’ll be like American Idol, but I’ll know at least one of the characters, namely me.
