Delayed Holidays

by Administrator

I am very happy that we delayed fireworks and dinner tonight because last night would have been miserable, it was just too stormy. Tonight was perfectly still and a perfect 0 degrees fahrenheit! I love the sound of the crunching of really cold snow, nothing quite like it. Lovely dinner and lovely fireworks, I even got to be introduced to the show Bones, which from what I have seen so far, follows some awfully strange story lines.

So here you go, my New Year’s festivities out in West Royalston, Massachusetts. Exposures ranged from 1/5 to 30 seconds, mostly more towards 30 seconds. I played around with focus in some of the fireworks shots by shifting the focus to infinity when the fireworks were in the sky, to throw out the rest of the image and have crisp fireworks. It would have been nice to have the 10-20 on another camera(don’t have that though) in order to capture the full fireworks, but I like the focus these pictures have on the people setting off the fireworks that were all taken with my Sigma 17-70 lens.

I don’t usually talk about which ones I like a lot or why but, this next one is easy to glance over… If you see it big you really see the figure on the right standing strong, dunno it works for me.
